Indoors and the garden
Nowadays has two halves. Inside is a dance room of about 5,000 square feet, whose floor was renovated in 2026. Outside is a garden with its own dance floor, open in the warm months from Thursday to Sunday from late afternoon. The club signed a new lease in December 2024, so it's staying put. The music is house, techno and disco.
Nonstop
Since January 2024, Nowadays has run Nonstop every week: the party starts on Saturday at 10pm and keeps going until Sunday at 10pm. New York law stops alcohol sales at 4am, but a club can keep the music on without alcohol, and Nonstop is the best-known example in the city.
Where to dance after 4am in NYC →Mister Sunday
Mister Sunday is the outdoor Sunday party run by Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin, from 3pm to 9pm in the garden. In 2026 it came back on May 31, and its season runs until around the start of November. As of Nov 2026 the outdoor season is over; the 2027 dates aren't out yet.
The house rules
No phones and no photos on the dance floor. Guides also describe the door as come as you are: no dress code to chase. RSVPs and programming go through the club's listing on Resident Advisor.
Is Nowadays in Brooklyn or Queens?
Queens. Ridgewood sits right on the Brooklyn border, next to Bushwick, which is why people often file it under Brooklyn. H0L0 and Mansions are also in Ridgewood, and BASEMENT is a short ride away in Maspeth.
