Clubs in Lower Manhattan: SoHo, NoHo, the Villages and Hudson Square

· Updated:

Lower Manhattan's clubs are spread out rather than lined up on one strip: SOB's and Paul's Casablanca in Hudson Square and SoHo, Jean's and Gospël on Lafayette Street, The Blond at the 11 Howard hotel, Little Sister under the Moxy East Village, and late club parties at Webster Hall and Le Poisson Rouge. The Lower East Side has its own guide.

Not in the Financial District

If you searched for clubs in Lower Manhattan and got private social clubs near Wall Street, that's a different kind of club. None of the nightclubs we have checked is in the Financial District or Tribeca (Paul's Baby Grand at the Roxy has closed). The nearest dance floors are in Hudson Square, SoHo and the Lower East Side.

Hudson Square and SoHo

SOB's, at 204 Varick St, has been running for about 40 years. Club nights start around 11pm and move through Latin, Caribbean, African, hip-hop and South Asian music, with Caribbean Saturdays on the current calendar. A few blocks west, Paul's Casablanca (305 Spring St) has opened its door from 10pm, Wednesday to Sunday, since 2016, with theme nights like the Paul's Dolls house party on Wednesdays. There is no ticket: it is door-only.

The Blond is the DJ lounge of the 11 Howard hotel. Its own page lists DJs every night it opens (Monday to Saturday; closed Sunday), later on Thursday to Saturday, and entry by reservation only after 10pm.

NoHo and Nolita: Jean's and Gospël

Jean's, at 415 Lafayette St, is a restaurant with a club in the basement and one of downtown's hardest doors; in June 2026 Cultured described its club nights as buzzy. Down the street, Gospël (281 Lafayette St, open since 2019) is a restaurant-club with deep and tribal house and live acts. Its listed nights disagree between sources, so ask us before you go.

East Village and Alphabet City

Little Sister Lounge is a 125-capacity basement club under the Moxy East Village, 112 E 11th St, run by Tao Group, with a DJ booth on Tuesdays and Thursday to Saturday from 11pm. Across the street, Webster Hall is a concert hall first, but its Late Nights program runs themed club parties such as Club 90's on select Thursdays to Saturdays. Further east, Nublu 151 on Avenue C mixes jazz, afrobeat, Brazilian and electronic music, with Producer Mondays and Latin Wednesdays from 10pm.

Greenwich Village: Le Poisson Rouge late parties

Le Poisson Rouge, at 158 Bleecker St, hosts live shows early and dance parties from 11pm: in the first week of November 2026 its calendar lists a Y2K Party on Friday and Gimme Gimme Disco on Saturday.

West Village: Playhouse and The Monster

The West Village's dance floors are gay bars. Playhouse, at 100A 7th Ave S, opens daily from 2pm with top 40 remixes, drag, go-go contests and Showtunes Sundays. The Monster, at 80 Grove St, has a piano bar upstairs and a dance floor with shows downstairs. More in our guide to gay clubs in NYC.
